Air Conditioning is simple in theory, it’s just like a big fridge, but in practice it can be difficult to diagnose correctly when it goes wrong. Air Conditioning Systems don't have a set service schedule. However, most vehicle manufacturers recommend that you service or re-gas your car's air conditioning system every 1-2 years. Some vehicles with air con units can go for more than five years without needing to be re-gassed. But, by servicing your Air Conditioning System regularly you can extend the service life of the expensive components within it.

If you don’t have your Air Conditioning System regularly checked and serviced to keep it in tip top chilly mode, you may begin to notice that it isn’t as good as it used to be.

This is due to the natural degradation of the special gas within the system, and sometimes because part of the system begins to leak. Even a small hole or worn seal, can cause the gas to escape and render the Air Conditioning System useless.

This machine works by introducing a special UV smoke into the pipes of your A/C system, we then use a special torch that detected the escaping smoke, thus pinpointing the leak.

If your Air Conditioning System is still working, but just not as well as it used to, it probably only needs a top-up of refrigerant gas. This process doesn't take long, 45 minutes on most cars.
